Nah they're 100% setting up the scenario of her eventually choosing being a novelist over him, meanwhile Main girl will swoop in and choose him over her science (or manage that unicorn that is work-life balance the Japanese seem to be so scared of)Ok I did not see this coming, is the author making Senpai the de facto winner and removing the main girl from the bowl.
Nah man you don't get it, clearly the only way to not do things "half-heartedly" is for those to be the only things you're ever allowed do 24/7. If you even try to think about not writing novels for even a second while thinking of becoming a novelist, that just means you actually don't care about putting in the effort, isn't that obvious? You can't possibly have dumb shit like hobbies or people to hang out with, that just makes you unserious and unwilling to commit to reaching your objective. This seems like such a non-issue to me. An author can't draw from an empty well. Having life experiences isn't being "half-hearted" about being a novelist, it's collecting experiences and living a life that will only enhance one's work. Is this a cultural thing or an artist thing, where the author believes one needs to be a machine that just works harder, and that will automatically produce better results? Not to be a totally rude bystander-coach, but that mentality might be why so much manga feels derivative and divorced from reality.
Even to have someone who could make your favorite meals while you are busy is a supper effective support for anyoneThis stupid plot point again, if another girl swoop in I’d say senpai deserved it.
Real healthy relationship is actually a very good thing, having someone supporting you to achieve your dreams made it a lot easier. Every time this kind of excuses came up it makes me think the author doesn’t really know how relationship works.
Does they know having a relationship is a lot more than just having lovey-dovey time?
And they are supposed to be a collage students? If you ask me the time spending support each other is just important.
If it’s just high schoolers I can somewhat suspend my disbelief but this? It’s kinda stupid and contrived plot to drag things out.
Probably gonna drop this and come back after this mess reach the ending.
I really love how the story leading up to this a lot and I really like senpai as a character and the chemistry was there too, more than other girl even, such a stupid excuses.
And the MC is half baked too, just say that ‘I’ll support you with everything I got so please go out with me at the same time’ or something along those lines.
But I guess they already set who’s gonna be the main girl huh? It’s a shame.
I have seen a few manga where someone other than the main heroine wins, so I'm cautiously optimistic considering they have confirmed mutual atraction and they're basically reserving the relationship. The only way I could see senpai fail is if there's a noticable drop in the quality of her writing now that she's distracted by a relationship or if she's taken out of the story completely by moving away or something.Nah they're 100% setting up the scenario of her eventually choosing being a novelist over him, meanwhile Main girl will swoop in and choose him over her science (or manage that unicorn that is work-life balance the Japanese seem to be so scared of)
