I feel like I'm the only one who liked this development.
The comments here are crazy to me. You know what? I hope more of you guys drop the series so they'll be less whiners here. Why keep reading something you hate right?
I think Shinonome-senpai reasoning this chapter was really good and not completely unreasonable. As she said she's clearly not as talented as Saraki thinks she is, and so she thinks, maybe rather dumb, that she has to go all out in this novel writing thing. It's very her, and I don't know I kinda get it? I think it's slightly silly BUT I also GET it. This is the girl that would die and get injured for writing. Of course she'll think this way. Even Saraki thinks she's a bit overboard, yet she just says she's sorry - that's me. The girl you fell for.
I think in terms of the story progression, I liked it. I'm never a fan of instant romances for the sake of it, and although they could have easily dated now - they both still said yes to each other. And I seriously don't see that changing anytime soon.
It's easy to forget that neither of them "loved" each other at the start of the manga and was very happy being friends. The only reason the romance sprouted was because they had this fear that their hangouts would be taken from them.
Also, in a way, I like how "novel-like" this development is. It's very "them" being the novel lovers they are. They both are idiots in the romance department but there's nothing more romantic than being the one to inspire someone in writing.
I think, I'm just less obsessed with "who's gonna win?" and "oh no, they gonna let Kobachi win" than 90% of the readers here. Why the fuck should I be worried about something that hasn't happened yet? And not appreciate another chapter of these silly lovebirds going back and forth in a shouting match.
I'm just here appreciating the moment, the liveliness of the poses by senpai in this chapter and the confession by Saraki near the end.
A damn good chapter.
