If you have to throw away all your happiness for some kind of success, especially if it's not certain you will ever make it, it's not worth it. Or you're, like senpai here, just a fucking moron who thinks only one thing can be attained, being in a happy relationship or success at work. No, you can have both...

The authors sets up a scenario where two people actually try to get together... but then backs up because he needs the relationship to not exist because it creates drama. It's super forced. I get that people in real life do this, and heck I did something similar when I was younger. But this is college. Come on, you can work the two together. There's no reason to choose one or the other.

Also, pretty fucked up to force the other party to choose "choose me or choose my dream." Wtf? It's your dilemma, don't force it on others. Or what, is he going to have to take the guilt when shit hits the fan? Nah.

I know it was already stated but being a novelist is literally not one of the reasons you cant get into a relationship, I think this is a milking plot but i guess im technically fine with it since i dont want it to end that fast. Now, either the author just let them continue their relationship or he somehow fucks it up so the female lead gets a chance.

This is some old bullshit... Unsatisfying no matter who you were rooting for. Didn't expect this kinda development so that's something I guess??

Japan: "What? You mean I should find a way to have a life beyond killing myself for my job? What sort of shameless, pathetic nonsense are you spouting? My only worth in this world is to feed my corpse into the corporate meat-grinder!"

It'd be one thing for her to say she can't go out with him now because she needs to focus on getting serialized and stable, but to just outright suggest that she can either have her career or have a personal life but not both is asinine.

The fact that they've also done this with a secondary character who clearly appears to be set up to be the losing heroine since she's not the girl on all the covers just makes it worse/dumber.

Nah they're 100% setting up the scenario of her eventually choosing being a novelist over him, meanwhile Main girl will swoop in and choose him over her science (or manage that unicorn that is work-life balance the Japanese seem to be so scared of)
Artemis is a goddess who swore to never marry and stay a virgin her entire life.
She also protects and support other women and stuff...

If we take the title literally, then the main girl is unlikely to end up winning! right? IM COPING 😭

This gotta be the dumbest reason for best girl to lose I've ever seen and I finish neskoi
I mean I don’t think she’s the best girl but I think this is a horrible way for the eventual loss of the side heroine to go If she loses. She’s acting like work life balance isn’t a thing😭

This dilemma is stupid but holy shit senpai did it, she beat the girl on the cover, when has that ever happened. Now if Hebikawa from Kusunoki manga can do the same.

This seems like such a non-issue to me. An author can't draw from an empty well. Having life experiences isn't being "half-hearted" about being a novelist, it's collecting experiences and living a life that will only enhance one's work. Is this a cultural thing or an artist thing, where the author believes one needs to be a machine that just works harder, and that will automatically produce better results? Not to be a totally rude bystander-coach, but that mentality might be why so much manga feels derivative and divorced from reality.
It's almost what this manga's premise was all about, being able to draw from experience to excel even in an unrelated field.

Ok I did not see this coming, is the author making Senpai the de facto winner and removing the main girl from the bowl.
And then she went on to get a serialization that ran for 50 years straight, so he moved on and dated someone else, the end

I feel like I'm the only one who liked this development.

The comments here are crazy to me. You know what? I hope more of you guys drop the series so they'll be less whiners here. Why keep reading something you hate right?

I think Shinonome-senpai reasoning this chapter was really good and not completely unreasonable. As she said she's clearly not as talented as Saraki thinks she is, and so she thinks, maybe rather dumb, that she has to go all out in this novel writing thing. It's very her, and I don't know I kinda get it? I think it's slightly silly BUT I also GET it. This is the girl that would die and get injured for writing. Of course she'll think this way. Even Saraki thinks she's a bit overboard, yet she just says she's sorry - that's me. The girl you fell for.

I think in terms of the story progression, I liked it. I'm never a fan of instant romances for the sake of it, and although they could have easily dated now - they both still said yes to each other. And I seriously don't see that changing anytime soon.

It's easy to forget that neither of them "loved" each other at the start of the manga and was very happy being friends. The only reason the romance sprouted was because they had this fear that their hangouts would be taken from them.

Also, in a way, I like how "novel-like" this development is. It's very "them" being the novel lovers they are. They both are idiots in the romance department but there's nothing more romantic than being the one to inspire someone in writing.

I think, I'm just less obsessed with "who's gonna win?" and "oh no, they gonna let Kobachi win" than 90% of the readers here. Why the fuck should I be worried about something that hasn't happened yet? And not appreciate another chapter of these silly lovebirds going back and forth in a shouting match.

I'm just here appreciating the moment, the liveliness of the poses by senpai in this chapter and the confession by Saraki near the end.

A damn good chapter.

I really hope this goes in the direction of pulling her out of this ridiculous idea, this is discouraging as a reader

Thanks for the chapter!
