It's true. Kimura from the very beginning even if it could be seen as "self aware mc" is treating his own world as if it's a simulation. It's clear that fundamentally this man always thought less of himself. Even when he denies kawashima of saying she possibly loves him he states coldly. That's not love. Kimura doesn't see himself, as a person and honestly it's a nice thing to tackle. As tbh I thought if the author wanted to extend the series they'd tackle this after he managed to get kawa closer to Ei as It all spawned from his mob mentality dragging him down to a point that someone who doesn't see the world like an anime/manga like Kawashima does stood out and inspired him to root for her.


Crazy how now were gonna have kawa try and mentally uplift Kimura's rather... gloomy mentality when you think about it. Reminds of that one shot in glephnir where the mc says "I'm pretty sure i'm not the main character"
