So many people confused about what happened to Erika have forgotten Chapter 56. She stated in Chapter 56 that she hadn't gotten permission from her father to attend High School at Roubai and was going to use the performance at the festival to try and convince him. This is literally the scene that triggered Akebi's feelings for Erika because Akebi didn't want Erika to leave.
