Interesting how the "mesugaki correction uoohh (five hundred sob emojis)" crowd goes dead silent when a manga that takes itself seriously actually goes in that direction.
Because what we have happening here isn't "brat correction". Brat correction would the mesugaki teasing the MC to provoke him into making a move on her via insults, needling, and temptation- which he does to "to shut her up". That is, the "correction" is the Brat is getting what they really want.
This is just a rapey MC sexually assaulting his childhood friend because she was getting close to another guy. She goads him a bit before hand, but it was all about him feeling lonely, nothing that would have egged him on to physically go after her. The appropriate "correction" woudl have been making her out around the festival with him while holding hands so she doesn't "break her promise again", not trying to take off her shirt.
So apparently this author wanted to go the Gal Cleaning route. Disgusting. Thanks for the chapters!!!
The only thing I can think of in this manga's defense is that at least it's not Gal Cleaning.
Brat Cleaning
She wanted romantic committment and maybe a kiss, not to be an outlet for his sexual frustrations
She wanted to be seen as a girl and succeeded too much.
Given how Asahi ... reacted... to being pushed onto the desk and kissed, I think due to Axe-kun we missed some needed build up. There probably were have been some chapters where following the events in the shack it becomes
readily apparent that Asahi gets turned on by the MC Physically correcting/going full Shojo Guy on her, so when he goes from zero to sexual assault it is because there would be
precident that it is exactly what she wants from him.
Or, its not sexual assault because he knows that what she wants/likes.
Without that precendent being set, this just out of left field, zero prep work, and instead of "MC finally gets over himself and give them both what they want as they both give into shared passion" it comes off as "MC is a rapey POS who just happened to get lucky the girl he got rapey with liked it"
Maybe she was going for the western dark romance thing but she fumbled the ball really hard? That's my best guess, other than that, disgusting.
I can see the general flow of the story, Asahi and Kakeru collaborate to make the MC realize how he really feels about her, he gets possessive and jealous like she wanted, hot makeouts.
But the author just didn't have the skill or space to actually pull it off.
