If you allow the death of literal kids because it would be a "great motivator" for the people to wake up, you are even worse then then demon folk. Just talk to the MC who is a fucking princess or the king himself. Just telling them to the overall plan concerning the relics are enough. It is bad writing UNLESS there is a defense setup going on in the background ON TOP of MC and co getting trained.
Well, Letting kids of nobles Maybe die, is still great motivator, it will kick literally everyone in the gut forcing them to take it seriously and do something instead of chacking it up to one time event, small threat, or minor issue that they can ignore,is it morally right? By no means, but it sure as hell will make death of more children and people less likely. "Let few die to save thousands" is a way as old as universe.
Now the fact that this is done from mouth of seemingly kind lady is the issue, but honestly... With some very suspicious details around her, I won't be surprised if she Can, maybe with help of other adults, guard kids despite possible threat, and she doesn't know how big attack demons plan, she only knows that they have plan

Non-zero chance she can grow in size three times over with muscles all over like Machio from "How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?"

Even those demons are ripped lol. Can wait to see the demon king looking like a muscle god using a barbell as a weapon.

I often saw comments that fitness influencers and bodybuilders were flexing hard when taking photos to showoff their bodies. So I guess this is kinda true that these girls don't have to worry too much about their appearances. Unless they flex. 😂 Which, I guess this is what the story is gearing up to.

I think she's just supposed to be an aloof character. it's just that the author doesn't understand the difference between aloof and purposeful negligence. I think it just comes down to the author being shit at writing. There's a difference between a mentor character purposefully letting the main character deal with an issue alone to help them grow and a mentor character just not giving a fuck and letting potentially hundreds of people die for no reason.
She's plainly not just an aloof character. She knows all this information, she was able to obtain the protein powder — a relic, I will remind you — via a "state secret", and so far seems to be able to act as she pleases. This is neither aloofness nor negligence, but rather a typical trope in shonen media: The mentor having total confidence in the abilities of the protagonist to thwart the villain.

She is unconcerned with the possibility of any students dying because she has observed all the variables and concluded that it won't happen, because it can't happen. Is that negligent? Perhaps. But what else is she supposed to do. Tell the King? Guarantee he already knows the demons are trying to return. Tell the guards or even the army? To achieve what? Knowing that the demons will make a move on the academy doesn't do much good if you don't know what move they're going to make. Try to intercept without enough information, and they'll just be alerted and change their plans, and not only have you not made progress, you've actually gone backwards because you tipped your hand and they'll put more effort into stealth.

Even if they don't, the guards and army are too weak to do anything: The only outcome will be dozens of guards and hundreds of students dead.

Doing what the house mother is doing here by putting her full faith in the musclehead to handle everything is literally the best option available that will result in the fewest casualties.

And, as I said previously, the fact remains firm that all of this is Laius' fault because he couldn't build a functioning society.

The demons are so muscular, humans also need to bulk up to compete

So nobody is concerned that one familiar sent to kill the princess and was never heard from again and the princess is fine?

Worth noting she appears to be hinted to be either associated with the divine realm or even the goddess herself. She was personally aware of how muscle couple protein powder story was distorted as it was passed down, and she specifically spoke of her promise to the first Emperor. As well as being aware of MC identity(past life and motivation). Pretty easy to obtain the protein powder of milk of mother goddess, if you(house mother) are actually the mother goddess(just create a fresh batch and claim it came from a vault).

To your point she also spoke of "the shackles of olden times... are such a pain" immediately after her monologue. Which could refer to MC restraining her talent with her mentality to focus on muscles. Or to herself who may be tied to this or restricted in some manner.

Divine beings being limited in actions they can take directly in lower realm is also a common trope/plot development.

I don't think she's planning to allow hundreds of kids to die, but if my haphazard guess is true, she might be willing to allow those kids to get scared pretty badly. If everything was handled behind the scenes, nothing would change in the society, after all.
