Well, we've reached it. The final boss of our duo's romance trial. We are finally entering the arc where Hizumi's other half of character progression will be fulfilled. Honestly I was waiting for this moment. Even shinba's fidgeting as he doesn't understand the meaning or actions of others while we, the audience know dang well what these 2 want. I don't expect some overly dramatic re-telling of Hizumi's past but I hope we can get to know if her mom was also apart of why she doesn't want to be with a competent man. Genuinely excited to see what's next ngl.

It could be. The dad is the same loser as Shinba is. Probably much worse than Shinba. But, the moment dad finally became butterfly, breaking up his own chrysalis, that's also the moment where it takes his own life. Maybe to protect mom, or even Hizumi in the past?
And the bad doll that her mom has, probably also a gift from dad. Similar to Hizumi's dull scarf and toy ring from Shinba. And last, two symbolize things (Hizumi's doll inside the bag and small plant inside a cage) can be interpreted as how she, as the owner of chrysalises, does not want both of them turn into butterfly.

Reading through page 11 was rough, it was like watching him pick the worst dialogue option. At least he managed to follow it up perfectly except for the kiss fumble.

So the mom wants to get between their love to prevent hizumi going through the same thing she went through, wonder how similar shinba is to her husband to make her think that way. She's not even going to try threatening shinba or something but intends to "teach" hizumi, whatever that means. But shinba's come this far! Don't underestimate his resolve to be the perfect man for hizumi!
