Im quite interested as well but i think at this point i dont think the manga can commit to a suitably horrific past so i doubt it will be a satisfying explanation.
Im honestly mostly interested why she specifically wants to keep him down. The best weve got so far is that she doesnt want to let him actually grow because she fears if he gets any better hell leave her so thats why she constantly discourages him but ist thats good enough
