I guess there are no pills, condoms, IUDs, or any other form of contraceptive known to mankind in this manga. What a dumb premise.

Thanks for the chapter!
She's a pro player, so contraceptive drugs might be banned. Even cough syrup has to be looked at by a doctor very closely for athletes competing in the Olympics.

The real question is: why the hell did neither of them chart her ovulation cycle? A woman's fertility window can only lasts 6 days each cycle, while the actual egg only lasts 24 hours. The can easily have lots of sex at any other time of her cycle.

Hormonal contraceptives are not prohibited in sports and are not on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list of banned substances.

at first i'm like "ig condoms, birth control pills, etc don't exist anymore lmao" but then i realized something

it's fucking Japan guys, the county with its lowest birth rate of 1.16 (as of 2026, idk if that number has changed at all)

so maybe JP doesn't want a good majority of it's manga readers to know about condoms, birth control pills, etc cause yeah JP's birth rate is on a bad decline sadly

but this might be just me being cracked out cause sleep is for the weak and maybe there's some other explanation for this like birth control is banned or something

Okay, I'm lost. Are you saying they already have a child or have tried to have one?

Thx for the TL

Well I can still appreciate this being a adult romcom and them already being a couple

but also the english title makes no sense after reading the chapter. WDYM "I'm newly married, but I can't have sex with the captain's girlfriend" ?! That clearly means something different than what the chapter showed.

It should've been something like Just got married, but can't have sex till we win the championship, still dumb but makes more sense

Natural family planning (the name for cycle based birth control) has one highest failure rates of any method of birth control, even with perfect adherance (which almost nobody does).

Pretty sure hormonal birth control isn't super common in Japan - quick google search says it's not covered by national insurance - and there's a cultural component to that.

I agree that the premise is dumb, but also I think the author has reasonably established that they're being dumb cause they're young and paranoid cause she got pregnant their first time.

Hang on, where's the child? Did they abort it? Do condoms not exist in japan? If she can't control her impulses, he still has his fingers and tongue, doesn't he? It's easier to make a woman climax with those than with penetration anyway. Alternatively, they could just do it in the backdoor. The art is really nice but the premise is dumb as.

So, did they have a kid or not? Because if they did is she being watched by some babysitter while they are out for the competition or something? Or is the English translation just that rough in that part?

Also the way the title is translated in English makes it sound like an NTR/cheating manga when it's actually a completely pure one.

As everyone said; them not using contraception is so stupid.
It would have made more sense if she just played a lot better went she's 'pent up'. There's precedent for this too, as it's common for men in contact sports to forgo sex until the game is over, because their testosterone raises from lack of sex - so a reason resembling this could have been given as to why they shouldn't bang. :thonk:
