There is something refreshingly solid about this series.
Maybe its the mc's monologue which adds a fair bit of color into the usual drab plotline of dude getting fawned on by beautiful chicks but you get to see just enough of his life that makes you want to root for the guy cuz bro really is out here questioning what happiness looks like cuz he's exhausting himself so hard.

Also I bet mc can fight cuz it looks like he used to be an award winner for some martial arts in the past. Maybe aikido or judo or something but I am frankly enthusiastic.

If it's simply because they look attractive, I've seen plenty of people who looked attractive but weren't part of the popular group in high school. It's such a cave man brain way of doing things, but then mangas are nothing but slaves to the overused tropes.

Well, as far as cave man brain and tropes go, that's hardly the worst offense for this story so far.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but the token idols of the school being rich geniuses who specialize in otaku-type hobbies is really indulgent. Chapter 1 is meant to filter people it's not meant for out though, so I can't complain.
