that's definetly hard copium. The content they skipped was amazing.
At the very least, I hope we get to see what was one of my favorite parts in one of the novels: The allied invasion attempt of an ildoan port iirc

For me it's one extreme case of "anime that advertises the books", even the fan service part is cut off

yknow, production cost exist, they cant have another Tensura where the mid season its always yapping... But it is saddening honestly because the genre is about the war. I hope they follow the Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu formula.

not following as per say... I mean if you watch it you kind get the gist, theyre talking their point out and shows a bit action on the war.
