As fun as it can be to do the whole "unassuming guy is actually really impressive at an unexpected activity", I like how the author set this up a bunch of chapters prior by showing us idling with his guitar. The reveal that he's actually this good has way better payoff for it.

And yes, the poor dumbass has no idea the jealous monster he's going to unleash. Haimiya already likes him, far as I can tell. This is just going to kickstart her proactivity. Which is probably what Itsuki was really aiming for.

Speaking of, that girl is gonna wanna get some life insurance once Haimiya finds out she was the one to put the idea in our MC's head.

Oh the face she'll make and the rage will be worth it. Hope Itsuki can run as fast as she meddles.

Yeah same difference, a lot of MCs have development driven strictly by love interests. Mio's development is driven largely by him as well, this recent ark with Koyuki is an exception. I struggle to see what the problem even is with development being driven by love interests, and if you do have a problem with it then you can't just have a problem with Kurose.

Brother, stop trying to convince me, I already said ''my problem''. I'm not saying that it's a problem overall for the writting, just that I have a personal petpeeve with it because it's overused and narrow-minded for me.
