I don't remember any of the first chapter saying he I merited his fathers company. Did that just get dropped and it didn't register? So this is how he ended up with the wife? This is the romance that separated her from the way she was in high school? A broken you woman being used by her Epstein ass father? I literally had to check and see if the wrong chapter got uploaded. Its like a new sitcom is on and you have two episodes and in the third the new wacky neighbor regular gets I produced when he comes over to let you know he's registered on the sex offender database.

What a jarring tonal shift. I am jarred! I think if he knew this was her backstory, we'd have heard about it before? If I went back in time to save my wife from her lonely childhood and I knew what her dad was like, the first thing I'd do is try to get him removed from the picture.

We did know. They did talk about how her dad did this in previous chapters.

I’m pretty sure they showed this happened in previous chapters already though, so it’s not really much of a tonal shift.

Edit: Went back to check and make sure I wasn’t just misremembering, and it was literally how they ended chapter 2. We knew this was coming.
