They feel like they’re owed a devoted, effortless, painless connection, which obviously reality won’t grant them, because connections takes effort, so they enact their childish sense of retributive “justice” to give them a control fantasy over people they viewed to have wronged them for not making their relationship effortless. At the same time, it also allows them to run away from the pain like a coward.

Was she dishonest to hide her embarrassment? Yes. Was that a justification for engaging in destructive communication and toxic behavior? Hell no. It also doesn’t solve anything, and it’s a form of dishonesty, since you’re retaliating with deception.
