I'll be honest, I didn't mind this one so much. Honestly, this whole arc was kind of a drag to me so a little levity didn't hurt.
Normally I, at the very least, wouldn't disagree, but in this case this whole chapter was a masterclass of Yamaoka's way with words and control of the situation. Without belittling Yuzan other than to say his Bizen example was incomplete, he masterfully managed to create a greater peace and a firm anti-pesticide message without demonizing the Americans. It was a major win for him, and a truly thought provoking commentary. Having the typical slapstick at the end, especially at Yamaoka's expense after all the amazing work he just did, really feels demeaning to his efforts and to the emotional maturity he showed.
