There is a section in the article about how it is an actual term actually used in modern Japanese martial arts, but as it also says, it is a relatively new term and so definitions vary between schools.

I guess this just means Ginbei and Hyoudou have kept up on all the new hip new martial arts trends.

Yeah and it sounds like Hyoudo kinda thought Gin was being dramatic for using the word. On the meta level, I think Fujita (expressed via Gin) likes the word because it's martial arts but also has roots in fantasy. It's a really direct example of that "sufficiently advanced martial arts are indistinguishable from magic" theme he keeps bringing in.
