    NOOOOOOOO
I was so scared when I heard that some mangaka were leaving.
I tried to check and wait a while to see if the manga I follow would be discontinued before I made this post.
After 10 PM, I thought it was safe.
Turns out the floodgate of announcement broke after midnight.

Well, I'm willing to bet that they are going to move to other publishers, who can get good publicity for hiring them

Yeah. Most likely. Maybe 1 or 2 months hiatus until they can continue in other place.
I find it quite amusing to see manga in this modern day depicting someone making a call on a smartphone,
and when the person on the other end of the line ends the call, the manga indicates this by adding a busy tone.
    On a smartphone.

Well, I guess I'm doing the same thing by writing this and using the phrase "on the other end of the line"

I'm pretty sure there's an entire generation on this board that - if they ever actually got a dial tone on their phone - would completely seize up and not know how to proceed.

"DUDE I WENT TO MAKE A CALL AND MY PHONE STARTED MAKING THIS NOISE WHAT'S HAPPENING"

Meanwhile, on my desk (not this exact phone, though):

Once saw this movie where this guy was in an island and he called a landline phone through a walkie-talkie
Ok, I initially read the first 2 chapters of A Mangaka’s Road to Japan when it first came out, and dismissed it as just "pfft, what is this?".
But now that I've actually sat down and read it, I think it's a pretty good... uh... infotainment... I guess?
(Because it's not really a story with plot, or biography, or diary)

But I thought this was some easy-to-digest information for those who often theory craft about mangaka, editors, publishers, manga getting axed, etc. some without any basis whatsoever.

Is it trustworthy being the source comes from the "corpo" itself? You decide.

I still think that it is a nice "official" information to have.

There are 2 days left and I still can't decide which manga I want to choose
so I can reduce the number of manga I will recommend to only 10. (from currently over 50)

This made me realize just how many manga are now licensed (or will be licensed) outside of Japan.
My coworker asked me if I planned to climb Fuji yet again this year.
I said, Yeah, probably, if I can find the time.

Then he said he never understood the appeal of climbing mountains.

And to that I replied, Some people have a hobby of trolling and making rage bait posts, even on platforms with no monetary gain.
I've never understood them either, and I don't intend to.
So, that's okay. You don't have to.
In my journey of reading hiatus manga, I think Hana-kun to Koisuru Watashi is maybe the worst so far,
if you only read the volume version.
Because it ended at the height of the conflict without any conclusion.
Fortunately, the last 2 chapters are still available here, which you can definitely consider the last chapter as "the end"
I feel like some donghua have side stories more complicated than the Fate series.
I was watching a 3D donghua animation just because I was attracted to its 3D aesthetic,
and suddenly I got several notifications about another donghua that visually looked completely different
but for some reason, somehow, related?
Been a long time since I opened Twitter, didn't know there's this massive trend among doujin artists posting images in 4 small strips.
And my friend explained to me: because you need to open the post to see the full image. The clicks.

I'm so stupid at this kind of things
Interesting one-shot all for the wrong reason.
    • One syllable title
    • "Ga" in the story refers to the word "moth", but "ga" in Japanese can mean a whole lot other things. I thought there's some kind of hidden message in the story, tho I don't think so. Not sure.
    • Officially translated into "Ga", instead of "Moth". Tho, apart from the "Lady ga-ga" joke, the title serves no purpose.
    • And all the Japanese readers talking is about the horrible Kansai-ben the characters are using

ok, I missed the small subtext in the title page.
The "Ga" in the story also refers to the kanji 我 [Me; the self; the ego]
This is definitely a manga that needs a page of translation note.
Had multiple agonizing new reads this week,
and it made me want to illustrate how my mind usually feels while reading manga.
This doesn't reflect my scoring, just my general feelings.

Basically, for me, the worst isn't the most hurtful.

I've always disliked manga that uses boobs for no apparent reason other than to hide the lack of a story behind it.
Especially when it seems like the artist can't even draw body proportions properly outside of the boobs.

And when a manga, out of nowhere, releases a hentai chapter, it seems to me like it's just a desperate bait for the main story.
Initially, I wasn't expecting much from Champignon no Majo anime.
The production budget seemed lower than most other airing this season, and the manga was just so-so in my opinion.
But wow, the music really elevated everything for me.
