At the time, it had 19 chapters out, and today, with the release of chapter 41, I still stand by what I said. What it had going for it in the first two parts isn’t there anymore. It now has a strong taste of misery porn that I really don’t enjoy.

I’m going to drop it and pretend it ended with The Second Contact.

I reported that Anehame should be tagged as Mature, not Erotica, since it’s clearly porn. Before my report was even accepted, someone had already fixed it and changed the tag to Mature. However, when I checked My Reports and saw that mine had been accepted, I went back to look and it had been changed to Erotica again. Should I make a thread in Support to ask about this? I’ve reported it again.

Wait… wait… a sequel to my favorite manga, Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi, just started being published and I hadn’t heard anything about it? Sheesh. I don’t know if I should be excited, since I kind of feel like the story didn’t need a sequel… but let’s see where it goes.

I was not in the “MangaDex is doomed” camp, but if they really remove the direct integration between the forum and the chapters in favor of an in-built comment system, meaning you will no longer be able to directly and automatically create a forum thread for a chapter, I will see no other alternative than joining the “MangaDex is doomed” camp.

So… does anyone know what happened with Imgur? Did they purge a portion of the images stored there? I don’t know the extent of the damage, but a lot of my posts may have just lost their meaning since they were mostly meme images, and others lost it too because I used images to explain things...

Even though I didn’t exactly have high expectations, I still have to add the TOG side story, Urek Mazino, to my list of disappointments of the year. Although TOG fans deny it, especially on Reddit, TOG has been declining for a while now with overconvoluted lore, bad pacing, and bullshit power scaling.

When SIU announced a hiatus to get shit straight and produce the side story, I thought he would cut the fat and tell a straightforward power fantasy. Instead, he added even more overconvoluted lore with the same awful pacing. So yeah, despite the low expectations, it’s still disappointing.

The irony of creating an account specifically to tell someone to get a job… then doubling down when called out. Zero self-awareness.

I don't know what's worse: people who snipe a team that's doing an excellent job, or the people who support the sniper's actions. Sure, some teams are behind the raws, and I'd like the chapters faster too, but I appreciate the quality of their work and understand that it takes time. These groups put in a lot of effort for free, and the least people could do is show some basic respect. I dunno, I just think it's sad to see this lack of consideration, especially when the original team has been doing everything right.

I’m officially retiring from in-depth manga commentary. These days it always goes one of two ways: either a circular argument where no one changes their mind, or a wave of dismissive, rude replies. I’m not sure which is worse. One is mentally draining, the other just pisses me off. And then there’s the occasional gang-up too. So yeah, I’ll just stick to memes and meaningless one-liners.
