@henman Yup. You are often what you protest against.

    Odaibako - Vol. 1 Ch. 1

This is more an art book than a manga and a collection of images that were previously published on Yamamoto's SNS. This is (maybe for a limited time) available for FREE on amazon.co.jp. It is region-locked to Japan so you'll need to VPN in to a Japanese server but once purchased, it'll open on...

Tsuki 50-man Moratte mo Ikigai no nai Tonari no Onee-san ni 30-man de Yatowarete "Okaeri" tte Iu Oshigoto ga Tanoshii

@Harvester I think we're suffering from a bit of power creep. We're expecting some world defining cheat/power/money etc in the titles but encountering someone who makes about 3 times what you make where you live can in fact be shocking. From the layout and the external view, it looks like a...

Tsuki 50-man Moratte mo Ikigai no nai Tonari no Onee-san ni 30-man de Yatowarete "Okaeri" tte Iu Oshigoto ga Tanoshii

@Harvester Personal income tax rate in Japan is almost 50% so that person making 50K gross is bringing home around 25K. There's a huge difference in bringing home 25K and 55K. Trust me. I've been there. Also, the MC is a 24 year old entry level employee at a black company, famous for...

Skip and Loafer - Vol. 3 Ch. 13 - Mad Dash for Popularity Before Summer Break

@errors Hi! I wouldn't recommend this for a beginner if your intention is for JP practice. This is set in a school and most of the characters are young, but I'd say this is one of the more harder ones I've handled. Generally speaking, you'll have an easier time with a shounen/shoujo titles as...

Tsuki 50-man Moratte mo Ikigai no nai Tonari no Onee-san ni 30-man de Yatowarete "Okaeri" tte Iu Oshigoto ga Tanoshii

@Cyro11 He called himself a guy in his 20's and he appears to be an entry level employee in a black company, so he's probably around 25. Not much younger because then, he'd either be in college or just graduated, but he's been abused long enough at work to become completely jaded. As for her...

It's Fun Having a 300,000 Yen a Month Job Welcoming Home an Onee-san Who Doesn't Find Meaning in a Job That Pays Her 500,000 Yen a Month - Vol. 1 Ch.…

In manga/anime at least, what they use in a similar manner to the "six figure salary" in the US is 10 million yen a year salary, as in that's what shallow girls in shoujo manga want their boyfriends to make. And according to https://japantaxcalculator.com/, 10 million a year salary would break...

@knismaps Holy shit, you broke the code! The Japanese was 窓ガラス 思った以上に 硬かった. Madogarasu, omotta ijouni, katakatta. A 575 haiku. Thanks! My haiku: The Window Glass, More Than I Had Expected, Displayed much hardness. -tpbt

@ghostdivision LOL, my mistake. Would you believe I typed it three times as Rio-san even as I was trying to fix it?

@Katharistis Japan has a very high tax rate, so if she's bringing home $60,000 a year in take-home pay, her salary is probably over $100,000.

Tsuki 50-man Moratte mo Ikigai no nai Tonari no Onee-san ni 30-man de Yatowarete "Okaeri" tte Iu Oshigoto ga Tanoshii

Might do it, might not, mostly because the first chapter is "Otonari no Saotome-san." And if you couldn't tell from the name, it's a LN adaptation. And yes, it' that Asahina Hikage. edit: alright, doing it but taking my time...

Skip and Loafer - Vol. 3 Ch. 13 - Mad Dash for Popularity Before Summer Break

@moozooh I think there may be a fundamental difference in how you and I view manga scanlation. For me, it's not simply an entertainment. It's certainly not a service that I offer in exchange of something. If it were, the one who are due this service would certainly have the right to demand some...

Skip and Loafer - Vol. 3 Ch. 13 - Mad Dash for Popularity Before Summer Break

@moozooh I get what you're saying, but Madonna isn't diva. Diva in colloquial English has a negative connotation whereas Madonna does not, except perhaps as a reference to the pop artist. And my translation philosophy is that I use the loanwords as they are, even if they mean something...

Skip and Loafer - Vol. 3 Ch. 13 - Mad Dash for Popularity Before Summer Break

"That be her?" in the original Japanese was "Sakki no hito yanokya!?" and Mika-chan replies sarcastically, "Nokyayo!" One of the examples where Mitsumi-chan's dialect sneaks out when she's surprised or excited.

    Choroi desu yo Onigoroshi-san! - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - Onigoroshi-san, from the Rear

@yasashikakashi If he was indifferent, he wouldn't have called her honey or tried to play the guess who game with her. He's mostly puzzled why she confessed to him, given his past history and current looks, but an upcoming chapter explains it. @mikoreimu Thanks! Fixed.

    Choroi desu yo Onigoroshi-san! - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - Onigoroshi-san, from the Rear

@Hakin In Japanese, it was ひょいっ which is "lift/catch/pop" and can also mean quick movement like popping up quickly. I couldn't really figure out how to put that in English so I went with "poing" which is what I guess quickly popping up might sound like, if it had a sound.

    Kouiu no Gaii - Oneshot

This bit of culture is otherwise known as 273898 and is ongoing. Looks like they added more plot and took out some plot to allow it on to a magazine.

    Choroi desu yo Onigoroshi-san! - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - Onigoroshi-san, from the Rear

@DudesInCapes I think you're right! My mind went to hanafuda first because that's what I've been dragged to by my aunts and granma to fill space when I was growing up.
