The writer fucked up this plot. Luca has barely ever been relevant. They should have cut Luca out and just put the mc in his position if they were going to make it almost entirely about her.

Again, where the hell is Luca? All this drama feels like a sideshow while the plot is put on hold. The mc is a bit too passive as well. She really doesn't seem to act like Luca's mother. It seems like she's barely ever around him.

I'm not so much of a fun of the leaning into the romance aspect. It feels like 80% romance, 20% Luca. I'm definitely a romance fan, but, in addition to it being pretty generic so far, I think Luca's position and their relationship as mother/son is much more compelling.
