That's because Index III was the worst LN adaptation I had ever seen, rushing the story of double the usual amount of volumes than it would usually take in the time frame they had, and as such they had to skip or handwave huge chunks of the story at every turn. Not to mention the audio design...

Yeah, it's cheesy, but sometimes cheesy is all we want. But either this ends as a short series, or the series begins focusing more on the characters around him, because the main character alone can't get this going for too long.
