I have the impresion that this double chapter is a flashback and happens WAAAAY before in the series. She has been using that S&W number 3 since chapter 2 page 4, and if the witch of chapter 16.1 page 2 is Bertha, she should have the scars and hook she got since last time she tangled with Vashenka

This series is resurrected in the chapter where Vashenka refuses to allow someone to just accept death. That. Is. So. Proper... (btw, do you remember the chapter where she fought Death himself over the life of her late boyfriend? Nice continuity).

WIth Kaoru Mori being Kaoru Mori, and given her previous work, we can make a safe-ish bet that the story shall end when it's apropiate for it to end, and the characters we want to meet will (or won't) meet based solely upon if it is apropiate for when the story ends... and THEN she will write...
