With all the translation and chapter jumps as it went on and some chapters being released out of order, I'm getting confused about the plot. Can someone give me a TLDR, please?

I honestly forgot the plot and the chapter jump doesn't help. Wasn't there something going on with the MC's mom?

I like it so far but it's a shame that the Orthodox Faction is so much more powerful than every other faction so far. Make you wonder why they were even struggling in the war.
