That reservation BS--I'm absolutely willing to believe there are places that do that in real life. But not in my city; restaurant competition's fierce here and if you deliberately make it a pain in the ass to do reservations, people will go somewhere else.

Bah, cheating. Ethics aside, IMO cheating is for morons who can't pick the right person in the first place.

OK, I know the world focuses on the winner, the winner, and just the winner. But whoever wins, second is still pretty dashed good. Took hard work just to get there, plenty of competitors in there trying; second place still beat almost all of those.

@Multitules Yeah, I was wondering about that. Although it's not totally out of character for this manga--the slice-of-lifeyness has meant that some places that would normally seem like a setup for some plot point, weren't, whatever just happened normally. But still, it's a bit abrupt.

This is heartwarming and such, but it also has a really real feeling about it. Good stuff.

Man, the story of how he got his scar was unexpectedly epic.
