    Protected Manga :rejected:

@phede86 We're not trying to penalize scanlators in any way, we don't want aggregators to be ripping us any more than scanlators do. Hell, we're scanlators ourselves, so it's not like we don't understand the issue. The reality simply is that unless you only make the chapter available to people...

    Protected Manga :rejected:

I'm not setting a good example here, am I. Sorry for posting repeatedly, and let's not dogpile.

I hope you realize that if Amazon can't do this then how are we supposed to I'd love to do it though, I'd be swimming in dollars
  4. Teasday

    Protected Manga :rejected:

This would do nothing to achieve the stated goal. What prevents someone from an aggregator from just asking the password?

    Trigger warnings

Yes, and at this point responding to the general sentiment is irrelevant and off-topic, because we're in the suggestions forum discussing what tags should be added, not debating the merits of trigger warnings. The difference here is that we have already implemented the system for these "trigger...

    Trigger warnings

It doesn't really matter what the OP wants (or rather wanted originally). I've already stated that we're not going to implement any new features to accomodate this stuff, especially since the Content tag category was created essentially exactly for this reason. Yes, the argument is different...
  7. Teasday

    Trigger warnings

Not really, because there are other reasons to add a couple of content warning tags than just the idea of avoiding being triggered, such as just a general distaste for such subjects (or taste, for that matter). To be clear, I'm not necessarily in a disagreement with your point, I just don't see...

    Trigger warnings

@PantsMan We already have "trigger tags". This is about whether there should be more. @Yautja Opinions about whether people should "hide from their triggers" are completely irrelevant to this discussion, as already mentioned. We're not here to argue about whether people should be able to...

    Trigger warnings

I would probably lean more towards Physical Abuse rather than Domestic to make it not specifically about a domestic or family setting. I don't think it adds any value to it. Psychological Abuse seems fine to me as is. Would possibly even work as an alternative to the H tags typically called...

On follows list, show indication if chapter creates a gap from previous chapters? :rejected:

@Oeconomist You're not wrong, it could be solved with additional data overhead instead of processing overhead. Although rather than adding a flag that's true for <0.1% of our chapters, I think I would prefer to create a separate table for tracking chapters that appear after a gap. Is it still...

    Language filter setting

It's intentional. I don't remember what the limit is off the top of my head (20 I'm guessing) but once it's exceeded it's just treated as "show all".
  12. Teasday

    Language filter setting

Just a guess, but it might work backwards from what you're expecting. Select only the languages that you want to see, not the ones you want to hide.
  13. Teasday

On follows list, show indication if chapter creates a gap from previous chapters? :rejected:

Very unlikely to happen because a) that would require fetching a whole bunch of extra conditional data every time someone loads up their follows just to combat a niche problem, and b) the reader was updated yesterday to display a gap warning upon opening a chapter.

    Trigger warnings

Yeah, it crossed my mind too but I couldn't think of a good fitting term for it. I could see something like this being useful and the suggestions @DANDAN_THE_DANDAN gave make sense to me. While I can kind of understand the point with not believing it without evidence (insofar as I'm a skeptic...

    Trigger warnings

Just to be clear, this thread isn't about an argument for you or anyone else to take anyone's triggeredness seriously, so don't turn it into that. Even if you could give me solid evidence there's no such thing as being triggered, the fact remains that there is still content people would prefer...

    Trigger warnings

Best to say this while we're still (mostly) in the clear: Reminder that the suggestions forum has a strict rule about staying on topic and not dogpiling.
  17. Teasday

    Trigger warnings

As mentioned in this thread the Content tags are meant to double as addressing this and other cases where people might want to avoid some manga. That's why they're yellow. We're not opposed to adding more if necessary, although we'd rather not get too specific with them so we don't have to add...

Favorites tab on the front page :planned:

I dunno about a favorites tab, but "Customized categories (naming and functionality)" is in the stickied planned list

    App version for mangadex?

Feel free to vote, but it's not going to have much if any bearing on what we're going to actually do.
