Given how stalwartly this manga has avoided these kinds of tropes so far, I'm willing to bet it'll end up being "I'm going to Tokyo for like a week, see you later!"
@Bente_Koini True, but it's also Japan, where the honor system actually works sometimes. And I imagine a cashier is still supposed to stop a sale if it's someone who is very visibly underage (I recall it comes up in another manga recently-ish), it's just an added layer of "seriously, don't be a...
@Bente_Koini I imagine it's a liability thing. If you say you're over 20 and aren't, then you lied and that puts the onus on you. At that point the store can just go "He said he was over 20" and not get in trouble. Then again, I'm only familiar with the US so I may be wrong.
@Ghang Oh I figured it was the game, otherwise they wouldn't have done the whole "censor a single character", I just find it funny that they need to do that when it's an actual word as well as a game title. It's not like G*ndam or Super S*ntai or something.
@suchtla Therapy and the like is still heavily stigmatized in Japan, even moreso than in the US. The reason you don't see a lot of people seeking professional help in manga is because they don't really do it much in real life. It's like the British "stiff upper lip" taken to an obscene degree.
My guess is that his poison will end up having a negative effect on Gospel somehow. Even if he can withstand it now, as an infant I can't imagine it'd be great.
