What's with all effort Hori puts into trying to make Deku into some kind of edgy anti-hero monster? It doesn't really align with any sort of theme or message, let alone what's happening in the story.

Not a fan of every single girl the MC meets falling deeply in love with him, but I appreciate that he handles all of those situations maturely.

The more Hori raises the stakes, the more monstrous and psychotic Shiggy gets, and the less sense is makes for Deku to think he can save this guy who literally destroys everything he touches and is not only okay with that, but wants to kill as many people as possible with the bullshit powers...

Overall, this was a very uneven series. MC spent too much time being a useless dumbass, and then several chapters moping, and then he's Saitama-tier after one epiphany, and in the end it was because of "perseverance" and not because using his power in a certain way makes him totally unbeatable.
