I must say that I enjoy the gag of his smoking constantly putting him in precarious spots, it's one of my favorite bits of "evidence" and so funny

I almost didn't read this bc I saw the anime so long ago and still remember much of it clearly but I'm glad I decided to continue with it anyway bc there is so much more depth, characterization and nuance here. Like Kairu isn't as sympathetic of a character in the anime, for example.
