I'd probably say that he's not super worried about what Kanoko will do. Luckily for him, the pieces fell into place with Mina being out there when Suekane and Tateo were talking. Plus, he's rage fueled because he blames Tateo for his partner and only friend Kawakubo breaking his spine.

And just like that, Kayo is dragged right back into the mix. It does really feel like Tateo has Murphy's Law.

I really do appreciate you reading up to this. That's the same reason why I started to translate it (foolish me, never start translating a manga with only 1 volume out). But if you're firm on dropping it, I'd say do it now. Cause in 16, the latest chapter, the title is Male Idol Part 10

Honestly I think this arc is getting a little too long. Next chapter though is a break from the regular story.

It feels almost too obvious, but it semi-tracks. That incident happened in July, 2000 and the baby wasn't born long after that. And then her dad was murdered on Christmas Eve 2022. which almost lines up that she was 21 at the start of the series. It's possible like her dad changed her birth...

And that's volume 1! This Kiss manga's volumes are on the shorter side, with 4 chapters per. I'll be diving straight into the next chapter as soon as I finish a different manga's chapter I've been working on.

Fun fact about this chapter's title. The Japanese title is 旅立ちの時 or Tabidachi no Toki. This is the same name as the Japanese translation of the 1988 River Phoenix film: Running on Empty. It's likely a reference because our cast are in vaguely similar situations as the movie's cast.

I definitely think this was a necessary sideline. A lot of you may not know it, but this kinda thing happens more often than you think. Especially in the underground idol scene.

I actually never realized it but the university that they mention, the one kanoko worked at, is called "teito" which is basically saying Generic Name University. He likely chose that because he didn't want to slander any real school and their pharmaceutical departments.

It does suck, he was just trying to help. But he kinda dug his own grave here. He's a pharmacist, not a psychiatrist, and depressants are dangerous, especially if they're the strong variety (which this is likely the case cause Suekane's wife was terminal, and doctors are more lenient on giving...
