    I like this story, don't get me wrong, but I would like one of these where the MC is actually as smart and aware as everyone thinks he is. Someone like Shadow, but actually knows what's going on instead of thinking it's all role play and generic bandits.

    Page 33 he picks the plant off of a bush, page 34 he takes a bit and remarks its salty. Since it grows on a bush, making it a bush berry, which is a fruit. Specifically, in this case, a salty fruit. He even calls them a fruit in chapter 12 page 7 which he then boils down on page 8.
