There are very few instances of instant death when dealing with the human body (even decapitation isn't instant, though it would prevent you from speaking). His wound was a large gash starting at his shoulder, while that wound would bleed out fast it would not result in instant death.
But that's all this manga has. In the next chapter, he will try to do something evil and luck into being a hero. Then the same in the next chapter, then the next, and the next one after that. I've read other mangas with this very premise, and they got old fast.
I recently started reading the book and in book 1 the devs say that the game has no partying or guilds, so the only chats are public and friend which is limited to pier to pier.
While I don't hate the "villain who keeps lucking into being a hero" trope, I much prefer Liam's whole "I am evil by our world's standards but not by a feudal system's". The whole lucking into stuff can get pretty stale pretty fast.
