As a light novel reader this pace is way too fast. Considering the slowness of the novel I'm not sure how this series is gonna work.

@NotFunstuff But I don't know how that's supposed to scale. There's at least one more rank before emperor in the novel so is the next rank arch duke/grand duke? How does that scaling make sense that the vassals are mere 'lords' rather than a range of titles from baronet to marquis or margrave?

@sedition TBH this is a quite decent adaptation. The novel is trash in everything other than narrative direction. I can't see anything good about it other than it knows what it is, fulfills the promise of it's premise and moves forward with the plot.

I thought the title of lemail/lemaire was mayor? At least that's how it is in the novel.
