Oof, this was a tough read. Painful when imagining the pain Mahiru had to go through, which she had no control over. Her parents are just scum, and I hope they don't have any kids in the future, as they've shown exactly what any decent parent should NEVER do.

Given that this would be adapting from manga as its source, it can have a bit more hope of being a better adaptation. Light novels (Angel Next Door, etc) are really hard to adapt well, given how much is in the source material that an adaptation isn't practically able to cover.
