The author changing the character's skin color for receiving the light spirit's blessing didn't undermine anything. It's completely in line with the story. The entire point is that minor characters take one look at her and make wrong assumptions about her. She is trying to remove...
On the one hand, I do prefer the darker skinned look.
On the other hand, sad to hear they caved to a bunch of people trying to make it about something it was never about (not to mention how the moral of the story is to *not* judge someone by appearance).
@egkaf22 I actually appreciate that they're respecting their inspirations and tying it into the worldbuilding. It seems like Tolkien actually traveled between the two worlds and wrote about it as fantasy. I like it more than the idea that this race that exists in mythology exists for real on...
@CraniumAmbiguity The hero and monsters come to this world. The hero is still a digital character brought to life, and thus she only has whatever gear and items are currently on her account.
There are elements of this story I like, but elements that are really inconsistent. She's massively faster than this guy in chapters 19 and 20, but the guy is able to pull a gun when it's convenient, and run into a crowd when it's convenient.
I like the main character, but pretty boy thus far seems perfect and boring. We'll see if he has valid justification, but too many bad writers portray intelligence as having out of character knowledge.
