I suppose it's because it reminds her of her own aloof self and it's kinda evident she doesn't have much love for herself.
Those 3 letters each has a boy's name written on it. New male bullies, perhaps? Knowing that this is an edgy manga that doesn't shy away from SA plotlines... I feel wary about where this might be going. I mean, attempted gang rape already happened once on Momo, attempted rape on Hitomi (love hotel incident), alleged rape on the now-deceased Yuriko (former student and sister of Jimi's ex love interest) and sexual assault on Jimi himself... but I hope the author wouldn't try to rely on cheap SA plotlines so often. Have it be different this time.
