Wait, am I missing something? Did any of the stuff before this chapter even happen?
Yes, the window scene is from the 1st chapter, and Yuma's father beating him is implied in the early chapters, and also shown in other chapters. The black shadow that sometimes enters his room? That's his father.

As of the mother, library, and other else is just revealed in this chapter.

.

OKAY! NO! STOP IT, HINA!! NO! NO!! NOT LIKE THIS!!
Dang it, I forgot about the "cycle ending".
Maaaan, what a ride. Thank you for bringing it to us, everyone in Soukyuu.
Edit: Wait! You're a solo group! Good job, Bobby!

Oh, everyone, the 100 stories is about summoning ghost, and not necessarily will kill the story teller. However, if I'm not mistaken, usually it doesn't to be cancelled by killing yourself, you just stop telling the last story. And even if you stop half-way, I don't think something bad will befall to the story teller. There's no special in-universe rule about it too, so it should be the same usual rule that you just need to tell 100 stories, then the ghost come, or stop, and the ghost won't come or maybe even return back.

So... Yuma didn't have to kill himself, but he still chose to. He can't bring himself to summon his mother taking over Hina's body, but he also doesn't want to live in a world without his mother. So instead only stopping the story, he took the route where he thinks he can save Hina and reunite with his mother....

That's why Hina said, "Ultimately, you chose your mom."

damn thats Deep

The flashback kind of confused me but if im interpreting the timeline correctly, Yuuma initially tried to kill himself to meet his dead mother and escape his father's abuse, is talked out of it by Hina who tells him about the 100 ghost stories, but only tells 99 of them before he decides he doesn't want to trade Hina for his mother and ultimately hangs himself, after which Hina decides to start her own round of ghost stories to revive Yuuma.

also, guess his death sent his mother back to heaven too

I remember I was always expecting the last chapter to be a happy ending. Like, maybe Yuuma don't have to die, maybe his mom would tell him to choose Hina instead of her, maybe Yuuma would have the closure to move on from his mother's death. But I guess Yuuma just can't help it, he can't sacrifice Hina, yet he can't continue living with his dad and (step)mom.

I suppose we're Yuuma's mom's photo. But I wonder who's Hina telling the stories to now? A photo of Yuuma?

Thank you for Soukyuu / Bobby for the translation! What a wild ride.

So Hina wasn't just trying to help Yuuma but was trying to get him to forget his mother and hook up with her. She's been an obsessed lunatic the entire time. I wonder what her home life is like since she would stay with Yuuma until late or even a few days at the end there with no one coming for her. This ending just brings up so many more questions. Maybe a sequel for Hina?

damn even tho i called that itd be Yuuma’s story to be the last, that was one heck of a way to end a series. Thanks you for the scan-translation-works!

What a closing ending. I'm now starting to wonder what happened to Yuuma's father and stepmother.
