No. What she did is technically legit. The curse on the coin was broken. Especially since she traded it for 5 yen coins. Goen in Japanese literally means good fortune, so it’s a curse breaker. His death was sorta just a coincidence, which is why she never mentions the coin being the cause.

Damn, financial regulations are complicated. Next thing you know it's gonna turn out that she's facing an audit because the cursed 10 yen coin is legally considered a gift but the un-cursed 5 yen coins are counted as taxable income that needs to be reported.

This sorta shit's a good reminder that you should always make sure that your accountant's also a licensed exorcist. Yeah, they charge more, but it's worth the premium.

If Hina can remember MC's mother, that means her supposed death is not very long ago and his father already remarried.

It's either the father is already cheated before the death or the mother is not actually dead and MC summoned something else mimicking her.

I think it's pretty clear that he liked the girl judging by how excited he was by her confession and how adamant he was to respond to her before she bailed. Even in death he's still watching over her and he was given an opportunity with the Kokkuri game to give her some peace and solace to help her move on from his passing.

Someone on Reddit pointed out that in the final question, you can see five fingers instead of four (from the four kids playing the game). This suggests that all the questions up until the last one were answered by Kokkuri, but at the end, Asama's finger guided them to 'No' to spare the girl from grief....A fitting story for Valentine's day, but I have a bad feeling about what this means about Hina

That's a bittersweet ghost story told by none other than Hina herself. I like what the comments had said here - about Asama lying so that Shiori won't have to blame herself for his death; about the story being analogous to Hina's feelings; and on Yuuma dying so that Hina may live.

I have a headcanon scenario then: There's a powerful ghost on the loose. It seeks to trade Hina's life for its own safety. The ghost needs to be put down or else Hina will die. Yuuma loves Hina too much at this point to close off her future just because of some dead parent. That ghost might not even be his mother.

Let's just say, Yuuma being both a vessel (for containing a malevolent spirit of his own creation) and a martyr (for the simple wish of ensuring Hina lives even without him by her side) is a poetic confirmation of the manga's very title.
