I was going to say, I'm surprised at how few people are pointing out the fact that Yuuma's mom is apparently just as abusive as Yuuma's dad, just in psychological ways rather than physical ways.

Yeah it has been hinted that the Mom here is pretty much just Seiko from Chi no Wadachi, times ten. Dad might have been hinted to be physically abusive but I think this chapter implies the real threat have always been her. Perhaps even the dad's abuse was caused by her manipulating him.

It could be a possibility, but we aren't really sure whether the Mom ghost is actually the real mom, a demon in disguise, or the real mom mixed with demon. Seeing the trend of Yuma stories, i suspect the same. Yes, that's his real mother, acting manipulative to safe her son.

Ooof man. That meat bun woman is indeed manipulatively crazy. But, i think you get it the other way around. Mom ghost sure good, but Seiko is top tier pro. Her son caged for live there unable to escape, while Yuma still have some personalities intact.

Well, Seiichi did not have a friend telling him of a certain demon summoning ritual which actually worked, lol. At least he only killed one, while Yuuma has so far indirectly killed 3 people and is perhaps on the way to a 4th.

I was going to say the Dad didn't really look like the hiking-type.. Suburban backyards must be some of the most ubiquitous homicide scenes in Japan. Also poor Yuuma was really struggling this chapter, you can see the parallels in how he's holding onto his Mom in both the cover and last panel of the final page.

Wants Yuuma to sacrifice his friend for her, caused him to get involved with 2 deaths and an attack... Yup. Would be cool if she just protected him and that kind of stuff, but she seems more like an evil spirit. Causing Yuuma to suffer and killing people so she can come back. Wants him to continue with the stories even though he ain't fine. I hope he ends up giving up on the 100 stories because this is not going to end up well for anyone.

Compared to other moms’ reactions, this story mom barely batted an eye when her daughter repeatedly mentioned the dead father. After the last panel, she probably calmly got the shovel out again. I wonder if the father could only utter “Here” because she hit him with the shovel and gave him a head injury, and he never shows the back of his head to his daughter.

In the story, the little girl is tearfully grieves, then blindly chases after her father‘s image, only to grasp at air. We see Yuuma possibly doing the same, and is just chasing and grasping at an illusion.

Finally a story that gave me actual chills again for the ending.

With each passing chapter the more I'm convinced that's not truly Yuuma's mom….
