Okay, so that 100% rules out that old severed head theory for what "we" are. The idea that we're another stuffy is looking more and more likely, although some odd specifics have been noted.

When Yuuma moves us into the closet, he says he's glad that mom didn't find us. As well, when his dad flipped Yuuma's desk, our perspective didn't change, meaning that we weren't on the desk to begin with.

So in short, we are;

  • Something that Yuuma cleans with a cloth
  • Something that doesn't rely on the desk to remain in the position it's in when Yuuma talks to us
  • Something that Yuuma can move
  • Something conspicuous enough that he feels the need to hide it
  • Something inconspicuous enough that the police officer doesn't bat an eye upon seeing it in his room

I'm surprised that the friend survived that accident, he looks like he's in very bad shape on page 4 with a broken neck.

Dammit officer, I know he's trying his best and it's only sensible to prioritize his wellbeing... but eesh don't be a prick about it.

Though, the story was as touching as it was shocking. Thanks to that, every scene now feels so much more different in retrospect.

Rin's lack of response wasn't from disdain towards her son. It's a mother looking at the absence from where her son used to be.

Makoto's mother is very intriguing though. Was she holding onto Rin's picture? Did she actually see and hear his ghostly form? If it's just her belief in Rin that made her speak that way, then her words striking true to his unheard feelings is a testament. Rin must've made Makoto's home so much more colorful since the day he barged into the house.

And Makoto himself... It's shocking enough to see him actually alive after being left in such a state. But for the one in a near-full-body cast to say sorry again and again for an accident that broke his body to no end...

I guess I'm glad I only got to see Rin as a ghost after the collision. God knows how worse the accident truly was for Rin.

Another great twist story. Really liking this manga so far. I just wish I knew what was happening in between the stories! The suspense is killing me.

... A mirror perhaps? Lots of supernatural stuff about those, and they are inconspicuous, fragile (explains why he protects it) and usually kept clean (explains why he wiped it)

My other guess is a photo frame with a photo of a dead family member, maybe one of his parents is a step parent, which would explain why he would hide it from his parents, protect it (because photo frames are also fragile) and clean it. Also would explain why he suddenly wanted to die and all that.
