I still don’t get why he’s trying so hard to cover up all these crimes and to tell all these stories. Wasn’t he gonna kill himself in the first page of the first chapter?
Hina was the one who told him to do the 100 stories thing. Since this is a Japanese urban legend we're talking about she perhaps told him a version where once you've told 100 ghost stories a real ghost will show up and kill you anyway, so you don't have to jump through the window right now. She did it in an attempt to stall his suicide, perhaps to buy herself some time to get closer to him because she thought "I can fix him".

The lamp is uncovered today. I didn’t expect the ghost story to be so hopeful. Lots of mentions of Hina and even a smile, wow. for how many times we’ve seen the parents they’re still such a mystery

That did feel like a story that Hina would tell. It has a melancholic, emotional twist at the end that leaves a slightly positive mood. In this case, that man is such a chad he even roamed the afterlife while torn in half just to save his dear child. Mad respect for him.

And Yuuma's mom was still there? How about all the incidents like his dad, the policeman, the smelly suitcase, and the bruises on Hina?

Wow, that’s a nice and sweet attempt. I thought the 100 stories was to “play” with some kind of yokai. However, yours makes much more sense.

Hina truly does always see things in a positive light. Even falling in love with the weird suicidal quiet kid that's most likely cursed, and believing there's a happy ending for them together.
