Both manga and anime version of it has great potential .
Liked the fact that it is different than your avg isekai/transmigration/sent to another world manga.
Unlike other mangas , side characters here get story of their own
story plot is also good
7.5/10

For any of you thirsty boys out there, no there is not a lot of romance in this, go read something else if you want some actual romance or a romcom. There is some, but the main focus is the story and character development, not how the main character makes every single girl in a mile radius fall in love with him. And the romance that is there is much more realistic, built up over time rather than the mc making everyone fall in love by just existing.

Personally love this story though. Can personally relate to a lot of the mc’s thoughts and feelings, as I can think a lot of that stuff myself at times. Just know, there are actually people out there that can be as coldhearted as he is, and while they might seem alien to you, they are more often than not correct in their own kind of way. Feelings are not everything that matters in winning a war, but winning through logic and cold decisions alone makes nobody happy either.

Personally, the mc alone is an 8/10 for me. Total story so far, 8/10.

This is definitely at least a +8.00 rating manga. 8.8 imo

@Zoorc Those are official translations, and as you know, there are no official translations on Mangadex due to it becoming problematic further on. And as there were no official translation for Chapter 45+ for over half a year or so, someone decide to translated it by himself, so here's that xd

From Volume 6, it gets retarded, but so long as you suspend your disbelief it is fun. Just remember everything is written by someone who might as well take as absolute truth every piece of government-published news from all of:
  • Afghanistan
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • India
  • Pakistan
  • Canada
  • The United States of America
  • The United States of Mexico
  • Every Right Militia in the USA
  • Every apache helicopter sexually identifying as limestone in the USA
  • The Democratic Republic of the Congo
  • North Sudan
  • South Sudan
  • China
  • Tibetan Revolutionaries
  • Uigher Revolutionaries
  • Space Alies
  • Transdimensional ultraintelligences
  • Squirrels
  • God
  • Satan
  • The reception staff in Limbo
  • Cthulu
  • Corrupt Cops
  • Cops arresting corrupt cops
  • The flying spaghetti monster
  • Juggallos
  • Tupac-is-still-alive sixth-wave evangelicals
  • First Wave Feminists
  • second wave feminists
  • third wave feminists
  • fourth wave maninists

If you took all that contradictory information, arranged it randomly, and fed it to an idiot that said, "Yup, I believe you" to every subsequent piece of info whilst trying to rationalize that with previously-presented data, then that human consciousness would spontaneously create so much cognitive dissonance that you would get "I'm standing on a million lives."

Just remember: killing people is wrong, not killing people is wrong, ignoring the authorities is wrong, doing what they say is wrong, helping people is wrong, and pretending to help people whilst killing nearly every one of them in an attempt to re-enact 1984 is always the right answer, all at the same time.
I concur.

Also the moral dilemmas that are raised, as far as I have read, are as absurd as suddenly saying that they are raping cows to get milk or enslaving bees to get honey.

Suffice it as an example the discussion that in reality the heroes are the bad guys for breaking, by preemptively attacking, the cease-fire agreement with an invader, based on a tribute that was becoming unsustainable, and that had allowed the invader to increase his forces until he could almost completely overrun the invaded without opposition.

Nor is it that there were no occasions to raise more classical dilemmas such as the convenience or otherwise of a dictatorship that would improve the lives of its citizens at the cost of subjugating the foreigner.

Anyway, at least it is certainly entertaining if you don't think too hard.

This does pull a bait and switch with the common harem set up.

But being honest, the pay off isnt there.

Our edgelord protagonist is fine, he is supposed to be a clown with weak motivations who is juat as edgy as a middleschooler can get.

Hokazaki is his emotional anchor. Making sure he doesnt get lost in his Shadow rp.

Shindo is what he sees as an ideal person, and he must learn that he cannot weight the value of people.

Problem is...

All other characters kinda ruin this.

Yuka is a comic relief from when this series pretended to be a harem. After that she has nothing to do and nothing to give the team, morally or physically.

Then we get Torii... the 19 year old delinquent... who... doesnt really do much for the story either and its kinda useless in his own arc. Being honest a lot of the time is just there.

I like Glenda the most but she is really out of placeys. At least she really actually helps the story, Yotsuya respects her and actually hears her opinion. She is the most mature in the group...

Then we have the 30 yo pedophile who is an author parody of isekai who does nothing.

And the superperfect idol everyone automatically loves.

And thats without talking about the story and the author ego complex that shines during the mexican cartel war and the middle east arc.

your assessment is reductionist to the point of being completely incorrect.
and even then, spoken just like someone who's never had to make a tough decision in their life. not that i have either, but probably tougher than any you have.
