Tons of people have been hypothesizing that her mom's aversion to cosplay was because she was a cosplayer herself. That's easily the least surprising part of this chapter.

not gonna lie, haven't seen those hypothesis, buuut it makes a lot of sense if I think more about it... but it's probably obscured by the endorphins of believing in Mikarin!! MC was havin' an oyakodon hahaha, but jokes aside I'm coping hard with that moment there, it was too sweet. Since the almighty Botan I haven't seen another not main heroine winner in a "romcom", I need it hahaha

As others have said this fits too well with Lylisa being a shounen MC, following the steps of luffy, ichigo and naruto having big shots parents.

Yeah, I called on the mom being the other legendary cosplayer a few chapters ago, and to be fair I had my suspicions about the father because of him carrying a very nice camera and I knew that at some point we'll have to meet the legendary "camera ojisan".
But the mom switcheroo was genius and got me fully bamboozled!

Side note, "Camera ojisan" is one lucky bastard living the dream. The dude got to marry his favorite cosplayer and has an incredible daughter, plus he still gets time for his hobby as the top cosplay reporter. Mad respect
