I did reread the manga recently and can't really see Okumura not going for Mikari but what do I know as a reader and not the author. even in this chapter he is confused and wanted to see Mikari. she's making a lot of decisions for him in a cope of her own and I can't really see him just playing along

I don't see the point of playing with your audience in this way. His running after Mikarin would also be unfair to fans of Lily, just like this fake-out was a bit unfair to fans of Mikarin. And if he does, as some suggest, by running after Mikarin in the next chapter, that would be extra nasty; a fake-out into another fake-out is not necessary to solve this situation. I don't see how this ends satisfyingly for anyone. Even sticking to Lilly has now been compromised a bit.

one thing i liked is he didn't say liliel first like usual, instead he immediately chose to recognized the human in the costume. I don't remember the previous fake outs all that well, but i feel this situation does have enough directness to it to go with the whole thing mikarin mentioned about needing mc to move on from his trauma, which it seems he might've by now.
let's pray it's a mikarin win to prove that point about mc.

Honestly at this point he should just date both.
This arc was pretty bad with the heroines competing for who is better at self sabotaging. Personally I'd prefer if Lilysa wins, but the way she acted makes me believe she told Okumura to run after Mikari and she'll be the one watching from afar instead.

oh this chapter is pretty good. it's understandable that people won't like it but without it mikari's resolve can't be this good. i am pretty sure mikari would be chosen in the end. lilysa already said she want to save people after all in this chapter and mc should already have strong resolve to be with mikari (his trauma already gone long before). 3 chapters should be enough to make mikari not doing this self-sacrificing again anymore

if this is not another fakeout, i really wasted my time in this series, ive sung its praises since basically day 1 but man, what a shame


i do think Okumura needed a bit more of an arc to resolve his situation with the ladies of his life, but this chapter is treating him like a mongoloid child, he's not top tier MC material, but he doesnt need this
