More interesting questions - right now when you take your cats in for neutering or spaying as far as they know it's the fault of the vet, you weren't there when the bad stuff happens. If your cats can actually talk and think then they know it's your fault... but then Ai-chan still doesn't seem to blame Yume-chan that much.

This chap was so fucked up for such a cute story. I get what the author is doing, at the heart, this is a cutesy educational manga about cats.

But the author seems to have not thought about the moral implications of spaying a SENTIENT being against their will.

The cats are not that different from humans in this story, so this chap still treating them like unthinking pets is so messed up.

But oh well, the cutesy tone of the story means this will not be a big deal ultimately. Just a slight writing oopsie.

That's what I was thinking! It felt like promoting sterilisation, kinda freaking me out with japan's historical past and all.

It's kind of fucked up, but cats be cats after all. They can speak but I think they understand they are animals and pets and don't really question their place in society.
I mean, they do have lots and lots of privileges as pets and the sentient mind to truly enjoy being spoiled by their favorite humans.

Then again, while going to the vet is one thing... I don't want to imagine how it's for animal abusers. People that hurt animals for fun. It's horrible to think that right in this moment millions of kitties are suffering, yet in that world, that suffering is inflicted upon smart, sentient, human like feeling, precious little beings...

Let's just avoid thinking about it. For my mental sanity.
