You do not own a manga that you scanlate, only the work that you do- so the cleaning of the raws, the redrawing, colouring, typesetting, and translation of your scanlation, separate from the original raws? That's yours, and only that. If someone wants to make their own scanlation, they are entirely within their own rights to do so; "sniping" is not a thing. It's called competition.
