I mean, at the end of the day, it eventually got to the place I wanted. So I'm pleased with that. Let's just have fluff from here on out.

But in the meantime, that was a strange set of ~4-5 chapters. Like, it felt haphazard and all over the place. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be drama, or just a test, or something else. But it felt like there wasn't much purpose to it, or rather, because of how the portrayal of time was handled, it was giving "what was the point?"

Still, I won't complain about rushing to a good resolution to the arc, I'll keep reading to see them get together. Thanks for the SL

There was no time skip, that guy wasn't the MC of this story. He is the MC of Kaii-san to Ore which takes place in the same universe.

Also, from what has been said, MC re-gained the ability to see spirits by going to several haunted places where he had contact with several ghosts.
