I'm pretty sure his Phone's "Death" is part of this, they probably texted him or one of them Nino ( most likely) or all of them and they all texted him and he didn't reply because his phone is dead. So I'm pretty sure that the phone is going to come into play somehow.

This chapter kinda pissed me off because it's so much of a god damn tease and just throws in more questions and puzzling behavior/reactions without solving a thing. Very filler-esque chapter. All the more annoying in how it seems like the entire Nanako family, including the girls, is jerking him around and avoiding him.

Good god, I hope he ends up with a sister harem and the dad/grandfather end up in a perpetual state of rage as the guy he hates makes a soccer team with each and every girl. (Of course, Miku shall be actual wife, however.)

Well, obviously, since it's Fuutarou's dad that nailed him this job. Now, why did Papa Nakano retreated at the first sight of Fuutarou's dad is a mystery (but it seems like they didn't have any contact since when Fuutarou was officially fired, so maybe there is something else?).

Check out Chapter 32 and this chapter where Fuutarou's dad sees Father Nakano ("Look what the cat dragged in" and staring dagger eyes, and Father Nakano immediately wants to get away). My money? They both know each other and that is how he managed to get his son a job as a tutor. Whether they are former friends, classmates or whatnot... I dunno. But I'm guessing with as much of stubborn ass that Father Nakano can be and how free-spirited Fuutarou's dad seems, it probably did NOT end well.

What really worries me: the quintuplet's original father has had absolutely zero backstory, explanation or anything. He wasn't in the picture, but I don't recall about their mother being a widow. I hope to god that mangaka does not lose their damn mind and pull something stupid like making Fuutarou's dad their original father.

Uhh, that's what i said, no? That tidbit in Chapter 32 doesn't really establish anything that happens in the present time, though. The only thing that could be important is that Fuutarou's dad called Papa Nakano "Sensei", but that's still kinda vague.

You didn't mention anything about them having a previous relationship...

Think about it. Doesn't the tone and what he says sound more like people that know each other pretty well instead of two fathers, one of them being so distant he's barely even in his own (step)daughter's lives, let alone mingling with the in-laws? I mean what Fuutarou's dad says is basically the generic Japanese manga/anime motivation lines that a friend says to another, really.

Sensei is a general thing that ties in with Japanese honorifics and doesn't actually denote any occupation (like a teacher as one might expect), necessarily. Hence why authors, mangakas, ect. are all referred to as "-sensei" in the industry. And often Doctors are referred to as "-sensei" and we know that the quintuplets' father does work in a high level position in a hospital.

Umm, ultraleaf said "those two have met before(the parents)", and i responded "Well, obviously". I think that counts.

Yeah, they are pretty friendly in the flash-forward. But, considering it happens in the future and the fact that Fuutarou's dad was his usual laidback self and Papa Nakano was his usual distant self, it doesn't automatically follow that they knew each other long before the events of the manga. That said, it's not that i think that wasn't the case nor would i be surprised if they actually go way back together.

And that's why i said it was "vague". Though, it kinda slipped my mind that he indeed worked in a hospital, so that makes sense, and doesn't really explain much about their relationship.

Actually, i think i made a wrong assumption - i thought Fuutarou's family wasn't aware of him being fired from tutoring job and that Papa Nakano said nothing to Fuutarou's dad about that. Now that i've put more thought into it, that would have been strange. As an employer he most likely contacted Fuutarou's guarantor (am i using the correct word?). Based on how their talk played out that actually might have lead to their current act.

yes, finally caught up to latest chap after 3months hadn't read any manga.

@Happily_Grimm
True, it's saddening that Miku is following the route of rejection, the role she has right now is only a support, while Nino has won a big points right now, she's got Fuutarou's attention. If no one will cope up with that points then the author has decided. Itsuki can still make it though depending on how big is this current event for her.
If the other three girls don't make an impact to fuutarou's then they're done. I hope that the mangaka will still give them a chance( specially Miku)
