No, but a manga with the goal to tell a compelling story and show the growth and change of it's characters, like this one, sure as fucking hell does. This isn't some SoL or comedy manga. Don't know why you're defending this but agreeing with my Star Wars analogy. And why the hell did you say let the author tell his own story. I am, I'm just saying he's fucked up. What a vapid response. Almost as vapid as straw-manning criticism as poor reading comprehension.
Being compelling or not is a subjective-leaning point. From my view on this story, this not story about growth and changes of characters, this whole story is about the idea of striving against unjust and oppression. It's been like that since early seasons of this series, where Eren have this "ALL MUST DIE AND BURN" mindset against the unreasonable tyranny from the titans. When season 3 of the anime series done airing you could see how Eren know what is the reason of all things that happen to Paradise Island and Eldian. But knowing the source of it Eren becoming to realize the price for the freedom, while pointing towards the sea he said :
So if we kill the enemy, the one waiting for us on the other side, will we finally be free? (youtu*be/EWZXBuRsZ-Y).
When story being time skipped to marleyan arc, Eren did not outright slaughter those he considered enemies, he spied on them. It even tell that, even after losing Colossal titan, the Marleyan still persist to take control Paradise Island by sending recon unit by the ocean. Knowing there'll be no end to it Eren decide to shift the power so freedom maybe achieved, while tricking Zeke in the progress.

Now that come to lastest chapter of the manga it turn becoming Eren's egoism for Eldian to keep existing vs Zeke's altruism for Eldian to be no bother for no one else.

Btw, every little detail from the story rooting on Eren.
Remember the scene where Eren's mom talk Shadis (Survey Corps' bald trainer) about it's fine just to born and exist?
Remember when Kaya told Gabi how it is fair for her mother has to die even when she had no involvement whatsoever to the atrocity of the Eldian in the past?
Remember the letter Ymir (Historia's friend) saying that she is done being what other people want her to be and want to be herself?

I mean, come on, what do you want Eren changed to be? A person who want to fight for his freedom to be guilt-tripped by Marleyan propaganda and end the series with Eldian coming to term for peace in exchange of tribute? Oh, hell no.

Whatever ways he has to take to achieve freedom while holding unto his egoism is yet to be known, cancelling the series definitely won't help. Some may say the series going downhill lately, but some still fascinated and compelled by it

Let the author tells his story.

Crazy Theory time:
I think Isayama is fucking with us in the middle of fucking with us.
Eren stated in this chapter that the Nine Titans all have a 'unique' skill that is pertinent to the single titan.
Here's the thing. The Female Titan being an 'all-rounder' doesn't make sense to me, it doesn't feel like a distinct characteristic. You know what DOES make sense to me? That the Female Titan is the reincarnation of Ymir - and possibly that we've been fucked with the whole while. Look back just a few chapters - it's a few of the lines that really stick out to me with what Zeke and Eren are speaking about.

Eren questions if the girl that they meet in the Paths is actually Ymir, to which Zeke responds "Who else would she be?" - Eren then gives 'Ymir' an odd look.
We then in this chapter speak about how each of the Titans has a special quality about them, is being a Jack of All Trades special?
Zeke then also talks to Eren about the fact that time passes differently in the Path World. Drastically different. Not a second has passed in the outside world, yet Zeke claims he's sat there for potentially years but has no way of having an exact time estimate. Even Eren when he awakens asks "How many years has it been?"

So what's my theory? I think Annie went fucking insane. I don't believe the Founder Ymir is an actual thing you can perceive but the Paths itself. Annie after she crystallized has been completely unresponsive and comatose for four years. But what if she was sent to the Path dimension? Think about how long four years would be for a place where a second could be decades. Annie could have been in the Paths world for millions of years all by herself. Zeke AFAIK doesn't even know Annie's fate, and why would he assume that Annie is somehow in the Path world? Eren is the only one who seems to question it. And guess who has future memories? This would also be a good lead in to having Annie awaken.

Most of that reply is focusing on the wrong thing, you should have been focusing on character development, the crux of what you and I have been talking about. Anyways, a manga which has the goal of telling a story like AOT, BnHA and, unlike SoL or Comedy manga, do have to have character growth. It's an integral part of the story. Because this manga is showing a journey of the characters, and if your characters stay the same throughout a several year span of a story, you're doing it wrong.

Yea, and I said he did actually experience growth after the timeskip, so you listing all those changes just proves my point.

Again, saying "let the author tell his story" is a vapid, nonsense response. I am, there is no way I can prevent him from doing so, and me criticizing him is not hindering him.
