Except there's a lot of examples of the localizers admitting to taking huge liberties with the stuff they are working on because they "didn't like the content" or some other nonsense.
Mostly US/anglophone localizers, europeans ones don't do that since the late 90's. Which means not everyone know how bad english localizers are, especially in Europe.

Which part of my message was saying that they did a good job? They follow the guidelines imposed on them, but that's not an impediment to do a poor job (if one cares about the content) as long as it meets the standard set for that enterprise. The reason those workers exist is because they're cheaper than a proper translator/editor and that's all those higher-ups care about, cutting cost and having a legible text even for those who never read, being accurate it's not a concern in these cases. If you are those who belief that an AI is going to do a better job... is because you don't know what translating means or how AI works. And yes, like UnnamedPlayer mentioned, other languages than English are not in the same boat when it comes to the amount of those workers in the industry (and even in English it's not the same your average publisher from USA than one from UK). Specifically about anime, for instance, Sentai Films are known for the decrease in their quality, yet they still get work because of the costs and the years of service, not because they're good or anything. And well, compared to the ridicule CR does when adds MTL subs...
PS: Mangagamer is a good example how a publisher is going to disappear because the remaining staff is the one that haven't renounced despite the bad working conditions and doesn't care about what they do. What's their current service quality? Terrible. They're just surviving by selling what other publishers do.

This problem of MTL has been worked on since the mid-1950's. It's still not solved, and I don't personally believe any of the current approaches using modern AI are orders of magnitude more promising than anything else that's been tried to this point.
A wise man once said : "We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem"
This quote... this quote (Gabe Newell, 2011) has always struck me as a bit odd, and I'm trying to put my finger on why. I think it has something to do with being from someone who was heading up both the content developer (Valve) and the distribution channel (Steam). I think it's coming more from his position as the latter and less as the former (Valve was transitioning away from making games toward other pursuits in the early 2010's, though they did still have some releases in that era). It's worth noting he already had a dependable universe of customers on Steam by that time. I'm not sure that's all of what irks me, but it strikes me that the parallel here is more applicable to CR and other streaming/licensing services than it is to either the creators or the publishers, but from what I can see the publishers are the ones that appear to be doing most of the pushing back on pirate sites at the moment - I don't think I've seen anything about CR et al being involved in these recent takedowns.

I still use AnimePahe and GoGoAnime, sometime 9ANIME but it's gone now.

But it's okay, there's still a lot of sources for this kind of thing.

Anime till I die.

It seems they also want to takedown wayback machine.
Is this a new development because I'm pretty sure the recent outage of way back machine was due to hackers trying to hold the site ransom for money not copyright infringement

What's weird is the hackers always come from China...

When you peep inside China, they're really good at ... peeling garlic.
